Champaign:

A 38-year-old man and 27-year-old woman were arrested Friday for burglary, resisting and obstructing an officer, criminal damage to property and escape.

According to a police report, the two offenders were attempting to steal food items from Mac's Amoco, 601 N. Neil St. After being confronted by officers, the man fled and later resisted being handcuffed. The woman kicked out the rear window of the squad car. Both went to jail.

A 31-year-old Villa Grove, Ill., man was arrested early Saturday morning for battery at The Highdive, 51 E. Main St.

According to a police report, two women were dancing on stage when the man was aggressive and bumped into the two. When one of the women asked him to stop, he punched her in the eye. The man went to jail.

A 21-year-old man was arrested Thursday night for driving under the influence after crashing into a tree.

According to a police report, the accident took place at the intersection of West Springfield Avenue and Flora Drive. The man was also charged with having an accident with non-vehicle property on private property and failure to reduce speed.

Two 23-year-old women and one 24-year-old woman were arrested Thursday night for burglary at Bergner's Department Store, 2000 N. Neil St.

According to a police report, the women were attempting to steal clothing by hiding it in their purses. The women went to jail.

Urbana:

A 37-year-old man and a 43-year-old Decatur man were arrested Sunday morning for possession of cannabis, and the 37-year-old man was also charged with violation of bail bond and trespass to land.

According to a police report, the vehicle the two men were in was stopped for a minor traffic violation when the officer discovered they were in possession of cannabis. After being taken into custody, the police learned that the 37-year-old man violated his bail bond because he had just come from the Europe Inn, 520 E. Curtis Rd. He was previously banned from the establishment. Both men were taken to jail.

A 22-year-old man was arrested Saturday morning for driving under the influence and resisting and obstructing an officer.

According to a police report, the man was pulled over for failing to signal during a turn and not wearing a seat belt. The man refused to give the officer his license or state bond option for traffic violations and refused to stay in the car when the officer asked him to.

A 29-year-old man was arrested Saturday morning for driving under the influence, traffic sign violation and having breath alcohol over the limit.

According to a police report, the man was pulled over after failing to stop at a stop sign and weaving in and out of the lane. The officer noticed that the driver smelled strongly of alcohol and had bloodshot eyes. The man admitted to drinking. He was taken to jail.

A 33-year-old man was arrested Saturday night for trespassing.

According to a police report, the man refused to leave the American Legion Post No. 559, 708 N. Hickory St.
