Champaign:

• A 40-year-old man was arrested for trying to restrain a 30-year-old woman at the 400 block of West Bradley Avenue on Tuesday.

According to a police report, the man shoved the woman into his van and refused to stop and let her out. He was taken to jail.

• A 39-year-old woman kicked an officer while being arrested at International House of Pancakes, 308 E. Green St., on Tuesday.

According to a police report, a restaurant employee asked the woman to leave, and when she refused to, police intervened.

• An unknown person stole a 34-year-old woman's wallet from her shopping cart at a store in the 700 block of Town Center Boulevard, on Tuesday.

According to a police report, one of the credit cards from the purse was later used at the Wal-Mart in Savoy. No suspects had been located at the time of the report.

• The car of a 29-year-old woman was damaged at the 1700 block of Lynwood Drive.

According to a police report, an unknown person broke the driver side windows while the vehicle was parked. No suspects had been located at the time of the report.

• Several boys stole money from a 45-year-old woman's bedroom at the 800 block of North Fourth Street on Monday.

According to a police report, the boys tore screens off of windows and forced entry into the house. No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

• An unknown person stole a CD player and money from a 27-year-old woman's car in the parking lot a store in the 2100 block of N. Prospect Ave., on Tuesday.

According to a police report, no damage was done to the car. No suspects had been located at the time of the report.

• Food items, boys' T-shirts, women's clothes and kitchenware were stolen from the apartment of a 38-year-old woman and a 19-year old woman at the 1200 block of Hanover Drive on Tuesday. No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

Urbana:

• A 17-year-old man and an 18-year-old man attempted to steal alcohol from Schnucks, 200 N. Vine St., on Tuesday.

According to a police report, the two men concealed the bottles under their clothes and walked past the checkout without paying. They ran away from officers after being ordered to stop.

• Residents called police when a 45-year-old man entered their backyard and knocked on their door at the 2100 block of South Vine Street on Tuesday.

According to a police report, the man was taken to Carle Foundation Hospital for assistance with mental problems.

UNiversity:

• A 19-year-old Mundelein, Ill. woman reported her wallet, which contained $200 cash, was stolen from her bookbag while she was at Irwin Academic Service Center Sept. 10.

• An officer interrupted a purse theft in progress Sept. 19 at the Union.

According to a police report, a man trying to steal a woman's purse fled and left the purse behind when he saw the officer approaching them.
