Champaign:

A car was broken into at the 100 block of East Green Street Tuesday night. According to a police report, the suspect entered through the sunroof and attempted to steal the car stereo. Checks and a checkbook were stolen.

A 37-year-old woman was arrested on Friday night for theft at Bergner's clothing store at Marketplace Mall, 2000 N. Neil St. According to a police report, the offender was an employee and had stolen various items in September. The offender was arrested and given a notice to appear in court.

A 47-year-old female was arrested for theft at Famous Barr at Marketplace Mall, 2000 N. Neil St. Tuesday night. According to a police report, a loss prevention officer reported the woman shoplifting. She was arrested and taken to jail.

Urbana:

Two vehicles were broken into at the 1400 block of Kinch Street Tuesday night. According to a police report, the vehicles were parked on the owner's driveway and the offender stole a CD player, two picture frames, jeans, DVDs and money from the victim.

A 12-year-old boy was arrested for unlawful use of weapons at a school at the 1200 block of North Division Avenue on Wednesday morning. According to a police report, the student got on a bus and displayed a switchblade to other students. The bus driver reported the incident to the school after dropping the student off, and the student was arrested and charged with unlawful use of weapons.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested for reckless conduct at the 1000 block of Race Street Wednesday morning. According to a police report, a tow truck was called to move the offender's car for a parking violation. After the car was hooked and lifted off the ground, the offender came out and drove the car off the tow truck. He was arrested and charged with reckless conduct and theft of services.

A victim was mugged at the intersection of Austin Drive and Hunter Street Wednesday afternoon. According to a police report, the victim was waiting for the bus when three offenders knocked him down and proceeded to take his money. No offenders were identified at the time of the report.

An unknown offender cut the lock off a newspaper machine at a restaurant at the 1700 block of Philo Road early Wednesday morning. According to a police report, the offender cut the lock and took the coin box.

A 26-year-old female was arrested and charged with numerous counts Tuesday morning at the 1000 block of South Philo Road.

According to a police report, the offender was pulled over for an obstructed windshield and suspended license plates. Upon further investigation, the offender was found to be in possession of a suspended driver's license, a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia and stolen property. After being taken to jail, the offender admitted to having stolen the items found in the vehicle.
