Champaign:

An unknown person stole CDs and a car stereo faceplate from a 29-year-old man's car Tuesday at the 1000 block of Francis Drive.

According to a police report, no suspects had been located at the time of the report.

A 17-year-old girl was arrested on Tuesday at the intersection of Bradley Avenue and Champaign Street for permitting an unauthorized person to drive her vehicle.

According to a police report, the officer tried to make a traffic stop when the driver pulled into a driveway and fled from the scene. The driver had not been located at the time of the report.

A 32-year-old woman's car was stolen at the 900 block of North Willis Avenue on Monday.

According to a police report, the car was stolen when the woman parked the car on the street and left the keys in the ignition for a friend to fix the brakes. No suspects had been located at the time of the report.

A 23-year-old woman's laptop computer was stolen from her apartment at the 300 block of West Green Street last Friday.

According to a police report, no suspects had been located at the time of the report.

Two 19-year-old men were arrested for possession of cannabis at the 1500 block of North Mattis Avenue on Tuesday.

According to a police report, the officer saw what appeared to be two men smoking in a parked car and stopped them for a traffic violation. The driver was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs and the passenger was arrested for possession of cannabis. Both were issued notices to appear in court.

Urbana:

A 13-year-old girl and a 15-year-old girl ran away in two separate instances from the Cunningham Children's Home, 310 N. Cunningham Ave., on Tuesday.

According to a police report, both girls left without permission and had not returned at the time of the report.

An 18-year-old man was arrested after being stopped for a traffic violation at Crystal Lake Park, 100 W. Park. St., on Tuesday.

According to a police report, the man was in the park after hours and a routine check showed a warrant for his arrest. The man was taken to jail.

A 50-year-old man and a 55-year-old man were arrested for attempting a fake merchandise return at Farm and Fleet, 2701 W. Cunningham Ave., on Tuesday.

According to a police report, one man took an item off the shelf and placed it by the entrance, where the other man picked it up and attempted to return the item for a refund. Both men were arrested and taken to jail.

A backpack, MP3 player, shoes and other items were stolen from a 30-year-old man's vehicle at the 2300 block of Rainbow View on Tuesday.

According to a police report, an unknown person entered the unlocked vehicle and stole the items. No suspects had been located at the time of the report.
