University:

A 20-year-old Illinois State University student was arrested early Sunday morning for drunk driving.

According to a University police report, police stopped the student when his vehicle was identified as the same vehicle that fled after an accident with a Mass Transit District bus. The student did not pass field sobriety tests and was also charged with leaving the scene of an accident and driving an uninsured vehicle.

A 47-year-old male from Marshall, Ind. was arrested late Sunday evening after University police discovered a hypodermic needle in his vehicle.

According to a University police report, police investigated a report of suspicious activity from a student patrol officer. When police arrived, the man was jumping up and down, flailing his arms, and talking to himself. The University canine unit was called to the scene and found the needle.

A 20-year-old male University student was arrested for criminal damage to state property and assault early Saturday morning.

According to a University police report, three students were walking with a group when the suspect began to threaten them. Later, in their first floor room of Garner Hall, the students noticed the man removing their window screen. The students said they had never seen the man before. The screen was valued at $50.


Urbana:

A 19-year-old male was battered by two unknown assailants while walking home early Sunday morning.

According to an Urbana police report, the two attackers were described as 20-year-old males. The two men reportedly jumped out of a car and assaulted the victim. They then fled the area as police arrived.

Theft of a motor vehicle from a 37-year-old male was reported Saturday afternoon.

According to an Urbana police report, the victim was intoxicated and left a party early Saturday morning. He left his 1997 Dodge truck at the party. A door of the vehicle was left unlocked, with the keys resting on the floor. When the victim returned in the afternoon, the truck was gone. A suspect, who has not been arrested, had expressed interest in the truck, according to the report.


Champaign:

Criminal damage to property occurred at Bottenfield School at 1801 S. Prospect Ave. on Sunday morning.

According to a Champaign police report, the school's alarm system was activated when a window was smashed. The destroyed window was valued at $150.
