A 270-page report on the Chief Illiniwek
dialogue held in spring 2000 should be available on the University Web sit
by Wednesday afternoon. The 70-page report and the 200-page appendix will
be sent to the the board of trustees by former Cook County Circuit Court
Judge Louis Garippo.
The University also plans to release another appendix with all 18,000 submissions
on CD-ROM that will be available to the public, possibly for a small fee.
Judge dismisses 32 charges against
Joe's
The attorney for Joe's Brewery, J. Steven Beckett, argued
Monday that the bar could not be held liable for employees that violate
company policy, contrary to the city's complaint. The hearing judge agreed
and dismissed 32 of the 47 charges brought against the bar by the city of
Champaign.
The charges were brought in August after employees were found drinking in
the establishment after closing time.
