Canada's success gives Robinsin slight shot at Athens
Late Sunday night, news began flowing from Panama that Canada defeated Mexico 8-4 and advanced to the final of the Olympic Qualifier. By making it into the final, Canada earned a top two finish and a spot in the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Greece. Illinois sophomore and Canada native catcher Chris Robinson did not wait up for the news, but went to his computer early Monday morning.
Baseball
Baseball team releases tough schedule
The Illinois men’s baseball team won’t ease into their 2004 schedule. The baseball schedule was released late last week and showed the Illini facing Mississippi State the first weekend. Mississippi State finished the 2003 season ranked No. 24 in the Baseball American poll and the Collegiate Baseball poll.
