Champaign:
A woman was
found stabbed on the 1800 block of Cynthia Drive early Thursday morning.
According to a Champaign police report, officers responded to a call
and found the woman with numerous stab wounds. She was transported
to Carle Clinic, 602 W. University Ave., where she underwent surgery.
Based on the suspect's description, police later arrested a 36-year-old
man in connection with the attack at a traffic stop on Prospect Avenue.
At the time of the report, charges were undetermined, but the investigation
was ongoing.
A 24-year-old
man was arrested for forgery and possession of a fraudulent ID at
Bank Illinois, 2011 W. Springfield Ave., on Wednesday.
According to a Champaign police report, the man attempted to cash
a payroll check using a fake resident alien identification card. The
ID and check were seized as evidence when he was arrested.
Urbana:
A 12-year-old
girl was arrested for filing a false police report Wednesday afternoon.
According to an Urbana police report, the girl, a resident at the
Gerber School, 1301 N. Cunningham Ave., initially accused an employee
of sexually assaulting her. After questioning, she admitted she made
the story up after betting another resident she could get the man
fired from his job.
A 22-year-old
woman was assaulted in the parking lot of Steak n Shake, 2009 N. Kenyon
Drive, on Wednesday afternoon.
According to an Urbana police report, a 17-year-old woman slapped
the woman as she was getting out of her car.
A 20-year-old
man was arrested for forging a check at Busey Bank, 201 W. Main St.,
on Wednesday afternoon.
According to an Urbana police report, the check belonged to a woman
the man and his wife babysit for. He presented it to the bank twice
before being arrested.
A house
on the 300 block of South Elm Street was burglarized Wednesday morning.
According to an Urbana police report, a 20-year-old man broke through
a screen window and entered through the unlocked window behind it.
He took a blank check and later tried to forge it. He was arrested
at that time.
