Men's basketball turns game over to Providence New York—It wasn’t Providence junior forward Ryan Gomes’ 24 points or sophomore guard Donnie McGrath’s four second half three pointers that beat the Illini.
It was their lack of movement against a ferocious 2-3 zone that wore down the Illini. No. 14 Illinois (4-2) lost to Providence (4-1) 70-51 Tuesday night at Madison Square Garden.

Women's Basketball
Women's basketball looks for win over Bradley The learning process exists in many facets of basketball. In the women’s basketball team’s last game it appeared as if they were starting to catch on. Against Bradley the process continues towards improving and getting wins.
"Our chemistry has really been coming along," junior Angelina Williams said. "We have always all gotten along with each other, but now it is becoming more evident in our play that things are starting to go smoothly. We all can play and we are filling our roles on the court."

Volleyball
Volleyball prepared and hungry for Sweet 16 win In most situations getting ready for a trip to Hawaii would consist of packing about five bathing suits and a few pairs of sandals. However, the volleyball team will need to prepare both physically and mentally — their trip to Hawaii is for business. It’s the next step to an NCAA championship.
The Illinois women’s volleyball team heads into the Sweet Sixteen after winning two straight matches 3-0 on Dec. 5 and Dec. 6 at Huff Hall. The team is hungry for its next win and knows a loss is the end of their season.
