A crowd of about 300 people gathered at Foellinger Auditorium Tuesday night to hear civil rights activist and attorney Morris Dees — the man whose historic law suits have helped bankrupt white supremacists groups like the Ku Klu Klan and Aryan Nation.

More study abroad needed for global understanding
The Strategic Task Force on Education Abroad recently released a report stating that Americans’ lack of knowledge of the world represents a “national liability” in the war on terrorism. The report by the task force, which is part of an association of international educators, argued that a national scholarship program is needed in order to overcome America’s ethnocentrism.
